Trying Different Operating Systems

Tired of Windows' user interface?....(sometimes...)

I can almost guarantee that all Windows users must agree at some point in time during the duration of using Windows as their primary Operating System, that the user interface becomes bland.  So a change would be nice, but how?  Will it cost much?  The answer is, another operating system may very well be relief so try it out.

Easily install another Operating System right alongside Windows.  Be worry-free about your user files and settings, explore and have fun.

Operating Systems

Linux

Here are some the live OS available.  Made lightweight (limited amount of system files) Mountable and portable too.  Meaning you could install it alongside your Windows, or completely get rid of Windows.

Ubuntu currently runs alongside my Dell Desktop and the U.I. is like heaven comparing to my Win 7.  The clarity in the display is awesome and not straining on the eyes after long hours of reading and writing on-line.

Some of these offer a USB live drive also.  Meaning the thumbdrive carries the whole Operating System, via cd or Thumbdrive, you could use a friend's laptop and pop-in the live drive or cd of the OS of your choice and enjoy your own environment for the borrowed time.  Watch your friends dwell in awe watching the unfamiliar user interface on their own laptop/desktop.

You are going to need a program that will burn the ISO image to the thumbdrive or burn the image to a cd.  Thus, making the system portable.  Most of the above Linux systems listed above offer their own designated programs to do just this.  On-line instructions are available after downloading your choice of OS'.

Microsoft Security Essentials-Necessary

Ever had the problem where the notification area has a white flag letting you know there is a problem.  Then when clicking on that white flag a notice claiming you need an anti-virus or malware security program that will protect you from the evergrowing pile of virus'.  So you need to find and download a program for that purpose only and only then and when will the white flag go away.

Another thing that happens are pop-up windows.  They irritate the user interface all the time.  That's where it starts acting like a virus.  A virus in the technical world simply means a programming language failure.  The software needs to be updated.  Updates are important also.  At times when the pc tends to pop-up windows saying that Windows needs an update, it is important that you don't ignore this.  Most users will just click the window close, with out reading it mind you!  Hello!  The PC will ask if it is ok to update...by ignoring this you risk potential software failure and freezes.

Microsoft offers a free downloadable and very useful program.  Microsoft Security Essentials is provided only by microsoft and is available after a Windows Genuine Check.  It's easy and fast.  It even works in the background during your pc usage.  There is a log that actively isolates any trojans on the spot.  It goes into quarentine to rest while Security Essentials checks it out and scans it before anything else happens.
