Quick Webcam Fix for Laptop Using Google Video Chat Settings

Quick Way To Fix WebCam in Laptop

Say you have this laptop, it has a built-in webcam, but you don’t know how to start it, neither do you know what type of program the
computer came with as it’s default launching program.

  1. If you already have a gmail account go ahead and sign in with the computer you’re trying to fix.

   2.  At the inbox look for the settings option and than look for chat there should be an option saying you want to use video chat.  After a few “allow” prompts, (to use webcam and microphone...) you will notice the webcam light on your pc should go on, saying it received your allow command and that the webcam can now be turned on....

3. what should happen next is that your webcam should be able to  use now.

Docking All In Google Docs

You could call it a substation.....cause really that's what it is, a multi-tasked and very capable application.

So are you one of the millions of people who sat at the PC, or laptop for a few hours, putting together all the information you'd need for your resume, actually get down to really typing it out and s#!% man ......

     the internet signal disappears!
............................the battery on your laptop just died!..

Just know this, you were NOT the only one that unfortunately experienced one of the few Greatest MISHAPs of word processing, data entry, or just plain old typing.  Good ol' productivity.  You just spent three hours, reading resume templates, collaborating and gathering all the necessary information to close the gap between employment in a brief summarized version of your experiences, education and work history.  So you've opened a new document in your favorite application, so you start to type, and just as you get your juice going, something stupid and costly happens, here are just a few famous ones.  Everything typed was just lost because you forgot to save your work before the laptop battery died......or your coffee spilled over your keyboard, and you hadn't sent anything to a cloud or jump drive so a great feeling of having been just robbed, suddenly and rudely takes over the almost fluid moment.

It happened to me,  ...one, too many times! It's very frustrating, because of the time consumption in preparing a resume and under deadline pressure, and than after all that the end result was preventative after all.  And I know this now,   haha!

Google Documents was the best solution to my problem.  That of which I know shall also serve as a solution to quite a bit of file associations and conversions between files.  If I needed my work to be printed or saved, there is an option to download as PDF, HTML, .doc, Open Office formats and such.  Another plus to Google's Docs is the automatic saving feature.  Every so many seconds Google will automatically save your changes to the document .

Great for all document formats actually.  The best way to do a resume I must say. With Gmail you'd be able to hold all files in one place, ready to be downloaded and printed or sent via email, chat, or group meeting/hangouts on Google+.  Also be able to collaborate together with others while updating all in realtime.

I only use Google Documents for a few years now.  I'm still amazed by Google's accessibility to all.  Takes us away from the Marketing wars and places us back at the foot of productivity!

UnInstall Unwanted Programs-Windows

Most Windows users know pretty much how to download and install programs and applications, but don't know how to remove unwanted programs. For everything that is downloaded and then installed, each .exe will than shed itself at least two times, splitting and adding the same contents in two places in your computer.  Thus, causing more memory usage.

Every time you download a new program, the executable file carries more files and unpacks it's contents when installed from the Downloads folder.  It then leaves a complete copy of the program in the Downloads folder even after installation.  So after installing a program it is necessary to go back into this Downloads folder and (right-click on the program's icon) and delete or drag and drop the installed program's original folder into the Recycle Bin.*It's smart to check all contents of your Recycle Bin before Emptying.  To restore or undo a deleted program or application select the restore option in the Recycle Bin.

When programs that you no longer use, starts to fill-up all the space or it's always there but no one uses it anymore, you can't just right-click/delete it, it won't delete, that way.  The only thing you'll delete is one of the many shortcuts that Windows can make anytime for anything.  To do this follow the following few steps...

1.Control Panel
2.Programs and Features- a list from Windows will generate  all programs that is installed on the computer, only programs that are already installed.
3. Find the program you'd like to remove from this list and select the UN-install option.  Wait a second, the UN-installation is taking effect, a notification window will pop-up letting you know that the process is complete.  Repeat this for every Program you want to remove from now on.

-Every now and then you'll need to go into the Downloads folder and send all the files already installed either to a cloud for future installation or to the Recycle Bin to relieve the space in this folder.

Trying Different Operating Systems

Tired of Windows' user interface?....(sometimes...)

I can almost guarantee that all Windows users must agree at some point in time during the duration of using Windows as their primary Operating System, that the user interface becomes bland.  So a change would be nice, but how?  Will it cost much?  The answer is, another operating system may very well be relief so try it out.

Easily install another Operating System right alongside Windows.  Be worry-free about your user files and settings, explore and have fun.

Operating Systems

Linux

Here are some the live OS available.  Made lightweight (limited amount of system files) Mountable and portable too.  Meaning you could install it alongside your Windows, or completely get rid of Windows.

Ubuntu currently runs alongside my Dell Desktop and the U.I. is like heaven comparing to my Win 7.  The clarity in the display is awesome and not straining on the eyes after long hours of reading and writing on-line.

Some of these offer a USB live drive also.  Meaning the thumbdrive carries the whole Operating System, via cd or Thumbdrive, you could use a friend's laptop and pop-in the live drive or cd of the OS of your choice and enjoy your own environment for the borrowed time.  Watch your friends dwell in awe watching the unfamiliar user interface on their own laptop/desktop.

You are going to need a program that will burn the ISO image to the thumbdrive or burn the image to a cd.  Thus, making the system portable.  Most of the above Linux systems listed above offer their own designated programs to do just this.  On-line instructions are available after downloading your choice of OS'.

Microsoft Security Essentials-Necessary

Ever had the problem where the notification area has a white flag letting you know there is a problem.  Then when clicking on that white flag a notice claiming you need an anti-virus or malware security program that will protect you from the evergrowing pile of virus'.  So you need to find and download a program for that purpose only and only then and when will the white flag go away.

Another thing that happens are pop-up windows.  They irritate the user interface all the time.  That's where it starts acting like a virus.  A virus in the technical world simply means a programming language failure.  The software needs to be updated.  Updates are important also.  At times when the pc tends to pop-up windows saying that Windows needs an update, it is important that you don't ignore this.  Most users will just click the window close, with out reading it mind you!  Hello!  The PC will ask if it is ok to update...by ignoring this you risk potential software failure and freezes.

Microsoft offers a free downloadable and very useful program.  Microsoft Security Essentials is provided only by microsoft and is available after a Windows Genuine Check.  It's easy and fast.  It even works in the background during your pc usage.  There is a log that actively isolates any trojans on the spot.  It goes into quarentine to rest while Security Essentials checks it out and scans it before anything else happens.

To take advantage of this free anti-virus go here.
